MEET ANNE

Anne is a creator dedicated to making a difference. From a young age, her family instilled in her the importance of giving back. With their support and guidance, she began knitting blankets, gloves, and hats to donate to nonprofit organizations in her community. Anne's love of working with her hands grew to include needlepoint, quilting, and scrapbooking.

When her daughter went off to college, she needed a new challenge and, frankly, a distraction. She spent time sewing and learned how to create handbags. Working with patterns, and mixing and matching fabrics and leathers reignited her creative energy. She also enrolled in graduate school, where she discovered craftivism: the art of making a difference by making something with her own hands. In researching the topic for her major paper, Anne determined she would serve her community, be a quiet activist, and continue her family's tradition of giving back.

In 2019, Krafty Kreations was formed as a local handmade business. One of Krafty’s goals is to support other local small vendors, by purchasing products that are made in the United States.

She hopes her work will inspire a new generation of craftivists who share her passion for promoting the role of handmade small businesses in her community.
